Rayman legends sprites
Origins and Legends unfortunately did none of this. While Rayman 3's story wasn't spectacular, it still had some funny humor, and imaginative designs and locations, and the story helped push the gameplay forward. Everything about that game's story fit well with the fun and challenging gameplay that followed. I loved seeing Rayman reunite with Globox and try to bust out of Razorbeard's prison, only to end up separated. I was intrigued by Rayman 2's opening cutscene from the N64 version, the music and opening text really set the tone for the adventure.
The story in Rayman 2 was what inspired me to keep wanting to play the game. Origins and Legends are great games, especially Legends, but their lack of story telling was a bit of a downer for a long time Rayman fan like myself. Rayman Legends was no better, it just showed a bunch of dragons swooping in with no build up, only to see Rayman ready to start running around. Rayman Origins starts off with Rayman and friends snoring so loudly, that they suddenly awaken a possessive threat, it was practically stolen from the opening of Rayman 3, except they managed to make it longer, and boring. Rayman Origins and Legends on the other hand did not have very good cutscenes or set ups. Without a hint of dialogue, we were able to see Rayman's world get invaded by alien bunnies, see Rayman get enslaved, and compete in ridiculous challenges, until Rayman earns enough plunger trophies to help him climb out of his prison cell. While Raving Rabbids didn't have a big story, it still had cutscenes and events that symbolize what is happening in Rayman's world. Rayman Origin's set up was worse than Raving Rabbids. It wasn't up until Rayman Raving Rabbids, where they scrapped story aspects of the series.
#RAYMAN LEGENDS SPRITES SERIES#
Rayman used to be a series with fun stories to go with it's fun and challenging gameplay. It would have been nice to see how Rayman met Barbara, and why he's helping her rescue the other warrior princesses. It's too bad Rayman Origins and Legends didn't have a proper story with narrative. Then again, Betilla is pretty much Rayman's mother, so I'm guessing similar appearances don't to apply. The big difference of course is Betilla being a nymph/fairy with a gentle personality, while Barbara is a barbarian princess, with a wild personality.
They both seem similar in appearance, with the big red hair, and green outfits. I always wondered if Barbara was supposed to be Betilla's daughter, or something.
